This month I wanted to share some information on Cyber exposure insurance. It is amazing the amount of exposure that is emerging from hackers getting into business' databases or servers. It is not just about large companies like Target, JP Morgan, or Anthem that we all hear about. It is happening daily across all size businesses. Exposures for any personal data accessed and taken by hackers could be "ransom payments" (yes, there is a huge marketplace for ransom dollars to get you your data back), to regulatory costs associated with state-by-state regulations on what is required of the business to do once they have been breached, to 3rd party claims for damages to the people whose data was stolen. Almost every company has private data on their servers, from employee data to client data.
